The Kelty Asher 55 moves the Asher line into dedicated multi-day trekking territory. Compared with the smaller Asher 35, it adds a perimeter frame to better manage the heavier loads that come with 55 liters of capacity, and the hip belt gains pockets for quick-access items.
At 1362 g the pack works out to 24.8 g per liter, a somewhat higher weight-to-volume ratio than the smaller Asher — typical of packs with a sturdier frame and bottom-loading access. A zippered bottom compartment lets you reach a sleeping bag without unpacking the whole main body. The AMP-Flow tensioned-mesh back panel and FIT-Pro torso adjustment allow some fine-tuning of fit.
Storage consists of two front pockets and two side pockets, plus hydration-reservoir compatibility; there's no integrated rain cover. With 55 liters on tap, the Asher 55 is sized for multi-day trips of several nights rather than single-day outings, where the smaller 35-liter version would be a better match.
