Description

The TOAKS SLV-07 is a titanium folding spoon that relies on a sliding lock block rather than a hinge: pull the handle out until the block clicks into place and the spoon holds rigid for eating, then slide it back to fold the head flush against the shaft. Folded, it measures 9.5 cm, short enough to tuck into a hip belt pocket or nest inside the lid of most cookpots without adding bulk to a cook kit. At 18 g, the weight is close to the practical floor for a full-size eating utensil — lighter than almost any wood or plastic spoon, and well below typical stainless steel camping cutlery. Titanium also means no coating to wear through with repeated scraping against pot walls or freeze-dried meal pouches. This is a dedicated spoon rather than a spork, so it lacks fork tines, and the sliding mechanism is one more moving part than a fixed-handle design. For ultralight backpackers and thru-hikers who eat mostly rehydrated meals from a pouch, that trade-off is a reasonable one for the space and weight saved.
