Ponio Shea Butter Natural Soap

Ponio's Shea Butter Natural Soap is a bar soap with a formula limited to three ingredients: shea butter (up to 80% of the mix), coconut oil, and sodium hydroxide, which is a necessary part of the saponification process in soap-making. The shea butter is sourced from Ghana and is known for its moisturising properties, so the bar cleanses without stripping the skin too much — useful for daily washing on a multi-day trek. The soap is fragrance-free and dye-free, and it's a vegan product with no animal-derived ingredients. Its hard, moisture-resistant structure means it doesn't turn to mush in a wash bag or break down as quickly as softer bars, extending its usable life on the trail. As a bar soap, it replaces a plastic bottle of liquid shower gel — a saving in weight and volume that adds up on longer trips where every gram counts. Its trade-off against more specialised trekking soaps is that it has no secondary purpose, such as hair washing or multi-purpose dishwashing.
