Lightloads pack towel

The Lightloads pack towel is an ultralight towel made from biobased Lyocell, a fabric derived from wood pulp, compressed down to roughly coin size (about 4.6 cm) and expanding to 30 × 60 cm when unpacked. The fabric itself weighs just 17 g, dries in under 30 minutes, and is claimed to absorb up to ten times its own weight in water. It falls into the compressed-towel category — unlike standard microfibre, Lyocell is produced from a renewable wood-based source, making it a more natural-fibre option for hikers looking to reduce synthetic material in their kit. An antimicrobial treatment helps control odour across repeated use between washes. This version has no hanging loop, so drying means laying it out or draping it over something rather than clipping it up. At 30 × 60 cm this sits on the smaller, pocket-sized end of the towel spectrum — better suited to hands, face, and quick post-swim drying than as a full-body towel replacement. For ultralight backpacking where every gram counts, though, it is among the lightest towels available.
