Description
The Leki Makalu Lite COR-TEC AS is an aluminum telescoping pole built around all-day comfort on multi-day treks with a loaded pack, rather than shaving off the last few grams. The COR-TEC grip (a cork-rubber blend) wicks sweat better than plain foam while offering a firmer hold than cork alone, useful on long descents when your grip tightens up.
The SpeedLock Plus lever mechanism sets pole length quickly without twisting, and the Dynamic Suspension System (DSS) cushions the impact each time the tip strikes hard ground — a detail that noticeably eases strain on wrists and elbows over a long, rocky descent. The 100–135 cm adjustment range and carbide tips with optional rubber caps cover everything from forest trails to rockier terrain. Pair weight lands around 493 g, heavier than lightweight carbon models, but the anti-shock system and tougher aluminum build make this a dependable choice where durability matters more than shaving grams.
