The Zpacks Minimalist Trekking Pole is a carbon fiber pole adjustable from 32 to 52 inches (81-132 cm) with a clasp-lock mechanism rather than a twist-lock, so you can tune the length on the trail instead of picking one up front. Interchangeable ultralight baskets are included, and the shaft carries both English and metric measurement lines, letting the pole double as a rough depth gauge for snow or water crossings. Being adjustable keeps the pole simple and light while still letting you shorten or lengthen it for steep uphill-versus-downhill sections, and it collapses to 23.5 in (60 cm). It's sold either single or as a pair, so it works both as a lightweight shelter support and as a full two-pole trekking setup depending on what you order.
