This waterproof footprint is made for the Big Agnes Copper Spur UL3 Bikepack and the standard Copper Spur UL3, so one footprint covers both versions of the tent. Beyond protecting the floor from abrasion, it doubles as the base for a Fast Fly setup, where you pitch just the fly, poles and footprint and leave the full inner tent body at home. Fast Fly cuts pack weight and speeds up setup, which suits bikepacking trips or warm-weather nights where you're not worried about insects - but it also means giving up the inner tent's bug netting and the extra weather margin the full tent body provides, so it's not a substitute for the complete tent on buggy or genuinely wet, cold trips.
