This footprint is cut specifically for the Big Agnes Salt Creek SL3 and made from polyester taffeta with the same 1500 mm PU coating used on the tent's own floor, so it matches the fabric's water resistance rather than offering a step down in quality. Sold as a single unit, it exists to sit between the tent floor and the ground. Its main function is protecting the tent floor from abrasion on rocky or gritty campsites, extending the usable life of the more expensive tent fabric. Because it's tent-specific rather than universal, it also supports a Fast Fly setup — pitching the fly and footprint together without the full inner tent body, which trims weight and packed volume for trips where a complete bug-net enclosure isn't necessary.
