Description
The Three Wire Hooped Bivy is a minimalist bivy sack with a hooped pole at the head end, built as a breathable bivy fabric rather than a fully taped waterproof shell, and rated for four-season use. A closeable mesh window lets you seal out bugs while still getting airflow on warm nights, or zip it shut for wind and cold.
Because it packs down small, it doubles as a just-in-case emergency shelter carried alongside a tent or tarp rather than as your only shelter on a planned trip - useful for ski touring, alpine objectives, or any outing where you want a backup if you get caught out overnight. As a breathable-fabric bivy rather than a fully waterproof one, it suits dry-to-damp conditions better than sustained heavy rain, where a bivy with a taped shell or an actual tent would serve better.
