The Enlightened Equipment Enigma 0 850 is a top quilt built for EE's most demanding conditions, rated by the manufacturer to 0°F (-18°C). Unlike the Convert line, it has no zipper and no hood — a minimalist design that saves weight by omitting anything not essential to warmth. The trapezoidal footbox is sewn permanently closed, trading the ability to open into a blanket for better foot insulation. It's filled with 613 g of grey duck down at 850 fill power, giving a total weight of 784 g in the Regular size (up to 183 cm user height) — noticeably heavier than the 950-fill Enigma 0, showing how much fill power affects weight at the same target. The 10D nylon ripstop shell has a DWR finish, and a draft collar limits heat loss. The down is RDS-certified, and a stuff sack and storage sack are included. Suits winter and late-fall trips where maximum warmth for the weight matters more than the flexibility of a zippered design, accepting the trade-off of no full-opening option.
