The Revelation APEX 30 is the synthetic counterpart to the down Revelation line — same thermal target as the Revelation 30 (4 °C comfort, -1 °C limit), but insulated with Climashield APEX instead of down. The synthetic fill is bulkier and heavier than down at a comparable rating, which pushes total weight up to a noticeably heavier 675 g.
Sewn-through baffle construction is standard for synthetic insulation and simpler to manufacture than the baffled chambers down needs, since synthetic fibers don't require room to loft the way down clusters do. Shell and liner are both 10D nylon, the trapezoidal footbox and pad attachment loops match the rest of the range, and a stuff sack and storage sack are both included. Unlike the US-made down models, this one is manufactured in Vietnam.
The main upside of synthetic insulation is that it keeps working when wet and typically costs less — the trade-off is the extra weight. A reasonable pick for hikers heading into damper regions, or anyone who'd rather skip the extra care down insulation demands.
