The Feathered Friends Penguin YF Sleeping Bag 40 is the warmest-rated and lightest bag in the modular Penguin line, built for summer camping. With 492 g of 900+ fill power goose down and a total weight of 1007 g, it carries a manufacturer limit rating of 4°C, making it more of a summer quilt than an all-conditions bag. The Pertex YFuse 20D mini-ripstop shell and the NetPlus recycled nylon liner (37 g/m²) are both Bluesign certified, and zippers on both sides let it connect to a second Penguin bag for shared sleeping or open flat as a blanket. A draft tube still limits drafts along the closure despite the lighter shell weight. Made in Seattle, RDS certified, and shipped with a stuff sack and storage sack, the unisex Regular size fits up to 182 cm. It suits low-elevation summer treks, lakeside camping, or as a lighter layering option paired with a warmer bag during shoulder-season trips.
