The current generation of the Ascent line, previously sold by Rab as the Ascent 700. Its 680 g of 650FP duck down with a fluorocarbon-free hydrophobic finish is rated to ISO 23537 comfort −5 °C and limit −12 °C — a three-season bag that covers colder spring and autumn nights in the mountains, hand-filled in Derbyshire, UK. At 1350 g it is not an ultralight piece: compared to the Neutrino and Mythic lines you get tougher 20D Pertex Quantum and less premium duck down at a lower price. It makes sense for multi-day treks with nights around freezing where durability and price matter more than saving 400 g. For summer gram-counting, look at the lighter lines.
