Its 18-meal capacity works out to roughly six days of food for one person, making it a better fit for longer solo trips than weekend outings. It suits hikers heading into areas where a certified hard canister is required by regulation — typically US national parks with resident bear populations. Compared with lighter soft bags like the Ursack, it offers greater confidence in food protection at the cost of extra weight and less efficient use of pack space.
