The Ultra-Sil Compression Sack is made from water-resistant 30D Ultra-Sil nylon, lighter than Sea to Summit's 70D compression sacks. Three straps cinch down soft, compressible items — clothing, a sleeping bag liner, insulated layers — reducing their packed volume by up to two-thirds. The thinner 30D fabric trades some durability for weight, so it's better suited to gear that won't be dragged over rock or dropped repeatedly than to the toughest use in a pack; treat it as a volume-saving tool rather than protective packaging.
