KS Ultralight Gear KS 3

The KS Ultralight Gear KS 3 is a frameless roll-top backpack with a listed volume of 34 litres and a weight of 244 g, one of the lightest full-size packs in its class — roughly 7.2 g per litre. The main body uses LiteSkin LS07 ripstop nylon with a tougher 330D Cordura base for ground-contact abrasion, and the fabric carries a standard DWR coating for light weather resistance rather than full waterproofing. Carrying comfort is deliberately minimal: the hip belt is unpadded webbing that can be removed entirely, there are no load lifters, and support relies on a frameless back panel. A removable chest strap, one stretch-mesh front pocket and two stretch-mesh side pockets round out storage, with no compression straps for partial loads. It's built for thru-hiking and multi-day trips of roughly three to five nights, where every gram in the pack itself counts toward a sub-kilogram "big three" target. Given the unpadded belt and lack of frame, this suits hikers already running light loads rather than anyone carrying heavy food or water reserves.
