The Mountainsmith Mayhem 30 is a 29-liter pack with an internal frame and contact-padded back system, built from 210D HT nylon reinforced with Spectra fiber for added tear resistance without the bulk of heavier fabrics. Two ice axe loops and a versatile intended-use list — multi-day trekking, ski touring, and travel — point to a pack meant for shoulder-season and mixed-activity trips rather than pure summer hiking. Access to the main compartment is via top lid or front panel J-zip, with a lid pocket, one front pocket, two side pockets, and side-only compression straps to cinch down a partial load. The padded, pocketed hip belt, chest strap, and load lifters make up a full carry system despite the pack's relatively compact size.
