Platypus Big Zip EVO

The Platypus Big Zip EVO is a 2 L hydration reservoir, also available in 1.5 L and 3 L sizes for different trip needs. Its main departure from a typical reservoir is the wide SlideLock™ zip opening, which replaces the narrow roll-top mouth found on most bladders — filling at a tap and drying after a hike become noticeably easier since you can reach a whole hand inside. The material is BPA/BPS- and phthalate-free with food-grade certification, so water doesn't pick up a plastic taste even after extended storage. Embedded silver-ion protection limits mold and bacterial growth inside the bladder between trips. The HyFLO™ self-sealing bite valve delivers high flow without needing to squeeze the reservoir, and the hose detaches via a quick-disconnect fitting, which simplifies cleaning and part replacement. At 171 g for the 2 L size, it's a standard rather than an extreme-weight-savings solution for pack hydration — the trade-off is easier filling and maintenance versus the lighter roll-top-only bladders on the market. It's not dishwasher safe, so it needs to be air-dried by hand after use.
