The Platypus Platy Bottle 2L is a collapsible nylon/PE laminate bottle holding 2 liters while weighing only 36 g — about 18 g per liter of capacity, among the lightest ratios in its class. The 28 mm threaded neck accepts standard caps as well as Platypus drink-tube kits, so it works both as a standalone bottle and as a reservoir feeding a filter or hydration line. Rolled flat when empty, it takes up almost no pack space, making it a natural backup water source on multi-day trips or extra capacity for camp use near a water source. The material is BPA-, BPS- and phthalate-free. Like most soft flasks of this type, it lacks a carry loop for hanging, isn't dishwasher-safe, and can develop odors if water sits in it for extended periods — better suited as a supplementary reservoir alongside a rigid bottle than as your only water container on trek.
