At 340 g, it sits solidly in flat-tarp weight territory, trading structure and bug protection for a dramatic weight saving over a double-wall tent. Guylines and stakes are included in the kit, so there's no need to source separate hardware before a first trip. Trekking poles are required to pitch it — there's no dedicated pole included — which keeps the shipped weight down but means solo tarp camping depends on carrying poles anyway.
