Description
The Liteway Poncho Pyraomm is a dual-purpose piece of ultralight rain gear: worn on the trail it works as a poncho, and pitched at camp it becomes a bivy-sized tarp shelter. It's cut from 20D Silpoly rated to 2000 mm hydrostatic head — enough for sustained rain rather than just showers — with a catenary cut that helps the fabric pitch taut. Ten linelock attachment points give a fair number of pitch configurations for a single sheet of fabric.
At 350 g and 3 m² of coverage, it replaces both a separate rain jacket and a minimal solo shelter, which is where the weight savings come from — though 3 m² is tight for anything beyond a crouched bivy setup, and pitching it requires a trekking pole. As with most silpoly shelters, the seams aren't factory-sealed and need a silicone treatment before the first trip out.
