The Big Agnes Blacktail 4 is the largest tent in the line, a freestanding double-wall dome for four people suited to both group backpacking and family car camping. A 5.57 m² floor and 127 cm peak height give four occupants enough room to avoid sitting on top of each other, and two D-shaped side doors let people get in and out independently without climbing over anyone.
Trail weight of 3515 g works out to 879 g per person split across four, a reasonable trade-off, though the full 3742 g packaged weight makes this more of a group basecamp piece than a solo carry. Fly and floor are polyester taffeta with a 1500 mm PU coating, adequate for standard rain, and two vents help airflow even with doors shut.
Two vestibules totaling 2.04 m² store packs and boots outside the sleeping cabin, six interior pockets keep things organized, and eight Dirt Dagger UL stakes round out the kit. A footprint is sold separately. For groups or families with kids, it's a practical, well-ventilated option with room to spare.
