Description
The Hilleberg Allak 3 is a fully freestanding dome tent for 3 people at 3200 g packaged weight — about 1.1 kg per person — light enough that moving camp daily on a multi-day trek is realistic, unlike Hilleberg's heavier base-camp models. Two entrances and two vestibules mean each occupant gets their own door and gear storage, useful when three people are packing and unpacking wet kit at the same time in a small footprint.
Like the Saivo 3, it carries Hilleberg's extended 3+ season rating, so it's built to handle more wind and snow loading than a standard 3-season tent while stopping short of a dedicated 4-season expedition design. Being fully freestanding, it pitches without staking on rock, gravel, or hardpack, and can be picked up and repositioned.
This suits parties of three who want one tent to move with them across a trek rather than a fixed base-camp shelter — at 3200 g it's still a two-person load to split fairly, so solo trekkers or minimalist duos will find lighter dedicated options elsewhere.
