Description

The Big Agnes Guard Station 8 is a four-season expedition tent for eight people, built around an external DAC aluminium pole exoskeleton that lets it pitch freestanding as a stripped-down group shelter or with the inner body clipped in for a double-wall setup. That hybrid wall construction gives flexibility between fast, minimal-weather pitches and fully sealed protection when conditions demand it. At 11385 g packaged weight, it's a genuinely heavy shelter — expected given its eight-person capacity, four-season rating and mountaineering/expedition intended use. This is a basecamp or fixed-camp shelter for expeditions and mountaineering groups sharing gear haul, not something an individual carries between camps. The connectable inner and freestanding pitch options make it adaptable to different site conditions, but its size and weight make sense only when the group has the load-carrying capacity to support it.
