The Enlightened Equipment Enigma 40 850 is the lightest and warmest-weather variant of the Enigma line in this collection, carrying a manufacturer rating of 40°F (about 4°C). The trapezoidal footbox is permanently sewn closed, with no zipper or hood — the same approach used across the series, where weight is saved by omitting anything not strictly needed to hold heat at the given temperature class.
Filled with just 263 g of 850-fill-power duck down, total weight comes to only 416 g in the Regular size (up to 183 cm user height) — the lightest of the 850-fill Enigma models in this collection. The 10D nylon ripstop shell is paired with a draft collar that helps prevent heat loss around the shoulders.
The down is RDS-certified, and a stuff sack and storage sack are included. The Enigma 40 850 suits summer trekking and warmer nights where minimizing weight is the priority, and also works for hikers who run cold-footed even in mild conditions, thanks to the fully closed, non-vented footbox.
