The Sea to Summit Ember Ultralight Down Quilt 50 is the warm-weather end of the Ember range, rated to a 10°C comfort temperature (limit 4°C) for two-season spring and summer use. At just 420 g it's built around 200 g of 850+ fill-power, RDS-certified goose down at a 90/10 down-to-feather ratio, with the same hydrophobic, non-PFAS Ultra-Dry treatment used elsewhere in the lineup.
Baffles are sewn-through rather than box-wall, the lightest and simplest construction available, and the trade-off is small cold spots at the seams — a fair compromise on a quilt rated no colder than 4°C. A draft collar and ventilated open footbox round out the design, while pad loops let it strap to a sleeping mat instead of carrying an unnecessary insulated underside. Packed size is a tiny 15×12 cm, and the warmth-to-weight ratio of 9.5 reflects a piece optimized purely for warm-season grams, not versatility across seasons — a natural fit for ultralight base weights and summer thru-hiking rather than shoulder-season trips.
