The Grenadier is Katabatic Gear's cold-weather down quilt, rated to 5°F (-15°C) and weighing 795 g — built for winter and shoulder-season trips well below freezing rather than three-season use. Goose down fill is treated for hydrophobic performance, resisting loft loss from ambient dampness or condensation inside a tent, and continuous baffles let you shift down around to add loft over torso or feet as conditions demand. The Pertex Quantum shell is a lightweight, tightly woven fabric that helps hold in warmth and resists wind without adding bulk. As a top quilt it has no floor insulation or zippered footbox the way a mummy bag does, so it relies on a sleeping pad underneath — included pad attachment straps keep it from sliding off during the night. A stuff sack for the trail and a separate storage sack for long-term loft retention at home are both included.
