The Feathered Friends Snow Goose EX -40 is an expedition mummy bag built for the most extreme polar and high-altitude conditions, rated to a -40°C limit. Its 1211 g of RDS-certified 900+ fill power goose down (measured to the US fill power standard) sits inside a waterproof-breathable Pertex Shield EX laminate, bringing total weight to 1896 g — the cost of reliability in cold where equipment failure is a real risk.
Box-baffle construction with a differential cut prevents down migration and keeps insulation consistent through the repeated compression and unpacking of a long expedition. A full-length, two-way zipper on the left side, backed by both a draft collar and draft tube, allows fine temperature regulation without unnecessary heat loss. The 3D anatomical hood hugs the head closely.
Regular-size dimensions of 163/152/99 cm (shoulder/hip/foot box, up to 182 cm user height) leave enough room to sleep in layered clothing, a necessity at -40°C. It's made in the USA.
