Atom Packs The Atom RE30

The Atom Packs Atom RE30 is a frameless roll-top pack with a 25 L main body that extends by another 9 L, for 34 L total, at a weight of 408 g — around 12 g per litre. The main fabric is EPX200 built on an EPX400 400D base, pairing a lighter face fabric with a tougher 400-denier nylon backer, a combination more geared toward handling rough terrain than shaving off every last gram. Storage includes two front and two side pockets plus two ice axe loops and a sternum strap, but the hip belt is webbing only, unpadded, with no load lifters — so it is not built for heavy loads. There is no integrated rain cover and no hydration compatibility. Per its stated use, it targets ultralight thru-hiking and multi-day trekking where the extendable volume and tougher fabric matter more than shaving weight to the absolute minimum, and where a simple unpadded hip belt without load lifters is an acceptable trade-off.
