Atom Packs The Mo EP50

The Atom Packs The Mo EP50 is a sturdier member of the Atom Packs ultralight range, built from tougher 400D EPX400 Ecopak fabric and fitted with load lifters, which the lighter Atom+ models lack. The 45 L main body plus a 9 L extension collar (54 L total) sits on a removable aluminium stay frame with a padded, removable hip belt that includes pockets. The manufacturer rates it for loads up to 19 kg, and combined with the load lifters and tougher fabric, that points to a pack aimed more at longer trips with heavier loads than at pure minimalist ultralight use — its 910 g weight is accordingly higher than the Atom+ EP50's 675 g, in exchange for better load transfer. It's also hydration-compatible, unlike the other Atom Packs models covered here. It suits long thru-hikes such as the CDT or Te Araroa, where hikers carry more food and water between resupply points and value higher load capacity and stability over shaving the last few dozen grams.
