The Hyperlite Mountain Gear Contour 35 is a frameless ultralight pack with a 35 L main compartment (41.5 L including external space) that, at 459 g, achieves one of the better volume-to-weight ratios in this group of packs — roughly 90 liters per kilogram, or just 11.1 g per liter. That makes it a fitting choice for thru-hikers targeting a base weight under 5 kg. The stayless build relies purely on shaped Dyneema Composite Hybrid fabric and a simple webbing hip belt that can be removed entirely — trading load stabilization for heavier loads (max rating 11.3 kg) in favor of minimalism. Front and side pockets use stretch mesh, there's one ice axe loop and a daisy chain for external attachment, but no compression straps and no hydration port. An adjustable torso range of 38–53 cm covers most body sizes. The Contour 35 is built for experienced users who already have a dialed-in light kit and need the pack to do little more than carry that load with minimal added weight.
