Mountainsmith CONA 65

The Mountainsmith CONA 65 is a 65-liter multi-day pack built on dual aluminum stays with a contact-padded back panel. Unlike the smaller CONA 45, this version genuinely combines a roll-top closure with top-lid and front J-zip access, giving three ways into the main compartment depending on how you're packing or compressing the load. The shell mixes 420D Carbonate nylon ripstop with a heavier 840D ballistic nylon panel, a combination aimed at abrasion resistance on a pack meant to be loaded hard over multiple days. One front pocket, two side pockets, and a single ice axe loop round out external storage, alongside a padded, pocketed hip belt, chest strap, and load lifters. It's hydration-compatible but has no built-in rain cover. At 2381 grams — about 36.6 grams per liter — the CONA 65 is heavier in absolute terms than its CONA 45 sibling but slightly more efficient per liter, and it carries Mountainsmith's lifetime Forged for Life warranty.
