The Gregory Katmai 65 Plus Size (2X–6X) is built on the standard 65-liter Katmai but with reinforced geometry for larger frames — the hip belt extends to fit a 39–60 inch waist, and the carry system uses an internal aluminum frame instead of the standard stays. The FreeFloat 360 back panel keeps its ventilated mesh construction, and stated capacity is 20.4 kg.
The 65-liter main compartment opens via a front J-zip or bottom access, with one front pocket, two side pockets, and an ice axe loop. The body is recycled 210D/420D nylon with a PFC-free DWR finish. At 2296 g — the heaviest in the Katmai line — the pack works out to about 35 g per liter, a logical result of the reinforced build needed for extended sizing.
It's hydration-compatible, though it doesn't include a rain cover. This pack targets larger-framed men who need a multi-day trekking pack with a hip belt that actually fits properly.
