Mountainsmith Scream 30

The Mountainsmith Scream 30 is a genuinely ultralight-category pack at 930 grams, built around a 3mm wire frame rather than aluminum stays — a lighter but less rigid support system suited to loads that stay well under a pack's structural limits. The removable, padded hip belt (fitting a 71–122 cm range) lets hikers strip weight further on trips where a hip belt isn't needed, though it lacks pockets, and there are no load lifter straps. The 210D Robic Dynajin nylon shell closes via roll-top plus a front panel J-zip, giving both compression and quick access. Two zippered front pockets, two stretch-mesh side pockets, and side-loop trekking pole attachments round out storage, with side-only compression straps for cinching down a partial load. It's hydration-compatible but has no integrated rain cover. Sized for adults on multi-day trips of roughly three to five nights, at about 31 grams per liter the Scream 30 targets thru-hiking and ultralight multi-day trekking where every gram in the base pack counts.
