The REI Flash 65L is the larger sibling in the Flash lineup, built for longer trips carrying heavier loads. Its tensioned-mesh back panel adjusts across multiple torso lengths, making it a reasonable choice even if you're not entirely sure of your exact size, and removable aluminium stays keep the pack's shape under a full load. At 1,587 g (Small size), with a 210D nylon ripstop body treated with DWR and a tougher 400D nylon base, this is a classic-style pack rather than an ultralight one — and the feature set matches: a dedicated sleeping-bag compartment, a front J-zip panel for mid-pack access without unpacking from the top, bottom access, a top lid, a hydration sleeve, and two ice-axe loops. With adjustable straps, a chest strap, load lifters, and padded hip-belt pockets, the Flash 65L is aimed at three- to five-night treks where you're carrying more gear and need the pack to transfer that load reliably onto your hips and shoulders rather than your shoulders alone.
