Description

The Osprey Rook 65 is the larger sibling of the Rook 50, and despite 15 L more capacity it weighs only 16 g more — 1602 g versus 1586 g. Per liter that works out to 24.6 g/L against 31.7 g/L for the smaller pack, a noticeably better weight-to-volume ratio at this larger size. Construction mirrors the Rook 50: a tensioned-mesh back, internal frame, and a 600D polyester body with a 1000D nylon packcloth base. The main difference is pocket layout — the Rook 65 drops the front pocket but keeps the two side pockets. Ice axe loops are absent here too, so it's aimed at classic trekking rather than alpine routes. An integrated rain cover and hydration compatibility come standard. The Rook 65 makes sense for hikers who need more room for a multi-day trip without paying a proportional weight penalty for it.
