The ULA Equipment CDT is a frameless 50-liter pack aimed primarily at thru-hiking, built from UltraGrid 200D recycled nylon. Main access is via a roll-top closure, the back system is contact padded, and at 768 g the pack works out to 15.4 g per liter of volume — a solid figure for this category.
The feature set includes one front pocket, two side pockets, two ice axe loops, hydration bladder compatibility, and a padded hipbelt with its own pockets. Load lifters are absent, which is typical for a frameless design — without an internal frame they don't do much work compared with packs built around a rigid suspension. There's no integrated rain cover.
Going frameless means a lower practical carry capacity than packs with aluminum stays, so the CDT suits hikers targeting a lower base weight more than those carrying heavy loads for a week-plus of food. It works for thru-hiking, day trips, and multi-day treks built around a lighter kit.
