Description
The Antonini Old Bear Total Black L is the larger sibling of the base Total Black, hand-assembled in Maniago, Italy's traditional cutlery-making town. Its 9 cm AISI 420 blade with black PTFE coating is a centimeter longer and slightly thicker (2 mm) than the smaller version, while the handle keeps the same black laminated wood construction.
Blade retention comes from the proprietary Twist-Lock ring, which holds the blade both open and closed without a spring mechanism — the same principle used across the Old Bear line. A blade hardness of 55 HRC and nail-nick opening without a thumb stud point to a traditional pocket knife design rather than a fast-deploying modern EDC blade. At 120 mm closed and 43 g, it is bulkier to carry than the S or base model, better suited to someone who prioritizes a fuller grip and longer blade over minimal weight.
