Description
The Antonini Old Bear Total Black S is the smallest of the three Old Bear knives — with a 70 mm blade and 100 mm closed length, it is built as a compact everyday-carry piece rather than a tool for heavier fieldwork. The blackened AISI 420 steel blade, rated at 54-56 HRC and 2 mm thick, suits light cutting and general small tasks.
Blade retention relies on the patented Lupo ring lock, a rotating-collar mechanism typical of traditional Maniago-made Italian knives, holding the blade in both open and closed positions without a spring. The laminated wood handle gives a warmer grip than plastic, opening is manual via a nail nick, and there is no thumb stud or pocket clip. At 25 g it is the lightest of the Old Bear Total Black lineup, making the S the natural pick for anyone who wants a small knife on hand without adding meaningful weight to a pack.
