Description
The Komperdell Carbon C3 Power Lock is a three-section telescoping pole that mixes materials by segment: the upper two sections are full carbon fiber for low weight and vibration damping, while the lower section switches to Titanal aluminum for better abrasion resistance where poles take the most abuse against rock. The 105–140 cm adjustment range covers most hikers and terrain, and at 68 cm folded they pack into a smaller bag than many fixed-length alternatives.
The Power Lock 3.0 lever mechanism holds the set length under load and is easy to operate even with gloves on, unlike twist locks that can slip in cold, wet conditions. Pair weight comes in around 428 g, a solid figure for a three-section carbon pole with this build. There's no anti-shock system, so these suit general hiking and backpacking better than routes with frequent hard descents where knees benefit from built-in cushioning. The foam grip stays manageable with sweaty hands, and carbide tips bite into rock and frozen ground.
