Description

The Yate Carbon Trek is a three-section telescoping trekking pole that pairs a carbon upper shaft with aluminium 7075 lower sections — a construction that trims weight versus all-aluminium poles while staying more affordable and impact-resistant than full carbon. The Quick Lock lever mechanism adjusts length across a 65-135 cm range and, per the manufacturer, still operates with gloves on, useful in cold-weather use. The EVA foam grip stays warmer to the touch than hard plastic and is easier on the hands over a long day, and an adjustable wrist strap is included. Tips are tipped in tungsten carbide for grip on rock and ice, and the set ships with two basket sizes — standard and snow — plus rubber tip protectors for use on hard surfaces or pavement. The pair weighs 440 g, a fairly typical figure for an aluminium-carbon hybrid rather than a record-light all-carbon pole, trading some weight for durability and price. Suited to hiking, backpacking, and doubling as tent or tarp support in trekking-pole shelter setups.
