Durston Stake Bag

The Durston Stake Bag is a set of eight aluminium J-stake tent pegs from Canadian brand Durston Gear, built primarily for the X-Mid tent line but compatible with other trekking-pole shelters thanks to its universal design. The set mixes two lengths: four shorter 15 cm pegs at 7 g each and four longer 20 cm pegs at 16 g each, covering both corner tie-outs and guylines that often need deeper anchoring in softer ground. Total weight is 97 g for all eight, roughly 12 g per stake — lightweight-aluminium territory rather than the ultralight extreme of titanium. The J-stake profile is a common compromise between weight and bend resistance: it holds well in typical forest and mountain soil, though on very rocky ground it can bend more easily than heavier Y-stakes. The set ships in a lightweight reflective stuff sack that makes pegs easier to spot at night. For X-Mid owners this is a straightforward replacement set; for other ultralight shelter users it's a solid universal option with a good weight-to-count ratio.
