Description
The Liteway PLA Pegs are a set of six tent stakes molded from biodegradable PLA, a bioplastic made from corn or sugarcane rather than the aluminum or titanium typically used for ultralight stakes. A triangular V-stake cross-section resists twisting once driven into soil, and the bright orange color makes the pegs easy to spot when packing up camp.
Each peg is 10 cm long and weighs about 8 g, so the full set of six adds roughly 50 g to a shelter kit — comparable to a light aluminum set, though PLA is more brittle under impact or bending.
They're designed for soft, loose, or sandy ground; hammering them into rocky or compacted terrain risks snapping the tips. For hikers on forgiving soil who value a lower-impact material over maximum durability, they're a sensible general-use stake, but not a substitute for metal pegs on alpine or rocky trips.
