Zpacks Hexamid Pocket Tarp

The Zpacks Hexamid Pocket Tarp is the lightest shaped shelter in the Hexamid line, an ultralight solo tarp made entirely from Dyneema Composite Fabric (DCF) with factory-taped seams. It pitches with a single trekking pole and has no floor and no mesh inner — it is a tarp only, covering a 254×91 cm footprint with a 132 cm peak height, and it weighs just 157 g including guylines. Two storm doors give access from both ends, useful for entering and exiting without crawling over gear inside, and the taped DCF construction is inherently waterproof without any extra treatment. Packed size is small at 15×8 cm, so it disappears into a side pocket of an ultralight pack. Because it is floorless and open on the sides, this tarp trades weather protection and bug-proofing for minimal weight. It suits experienced ultralight hikers who pair it with a bivy, or who accept an open pitch on mild 3-season trips, rather than beginners wanting a fully enclosed shelter. Trekking poles are required but not included.
