Big Agnes Crag Lake SL2

The Crag Lake SL2 is a freestanding, three-season two-person tent built around a single pre-bent aluminum pole set joined at a swivel hub — simpler and faster to pitch than the two-pole dome design of the Copper Spur line, though somewhat less rigid in strong wind. Its 218 × 132 cm floor tapers toward the foot end (107 cm), so the space favors sleeping layout over sitting up together. Fly and floor are recycled Robic double-ripstop nylon — 30D up top, a tougher 40D underfoot — both rated to a 1,500 mm waterproof column. Minimum weight of 1,698 g works out to 964 g per person, notably heavier than the Copper Spur UL line's roughly 600–750 g per person, placing the SL2 in the sturdier, more conventional backpacking-tent bracket rather than the ultralight segment. Two vestibules totalling 1.68 m² and a high vestibule-to-floor ratio (65%) make up for the tighter sleeping area by offering generous outdoor gear storage.
