Marmot Halo 4-Person Tent

The Marmot Halo 4-Person Tent is a semi-freestanding, double-wall dome sized for family and car camping rather than backpacking — at 6200 g packaged (5800 g minimum trail weight), it is well beyond what most hikers would carry, but that weight buys genuine living space: 5.9 m² of floor at a 150 cm peak height, tall enough for most adults to stand partly upright, plus 4.75 m² of vestibule storage split across two doors. Four DAC DA17 aluminum poles support the larger footprint, and the semi-freestanding design still needs staking at some points to achieve its full shape, unlike a fully freestanding tent. Fabric specs lean toward durability: a 68-denier polyester ripstop fly rated to 1800 mm, and a 70-denier nylon floor rated to 3000 mm, with reflective guy lines and factory-taped seams for finding stakes in the dark and keeping seams dry. Four interior pockets and an optional separate footprint round out a tent aimed at basecamp comfort for a family or small group over several nights, not at minimizing pack weight.
