The Elixir 2 steps up from its 1-person sibling with two doors and two vestibules totaling 1.39 m², a detail that matters more in practice than most spec sheets suggest: it means neither occupant has to climb over the other to get in or out. Floor area is 2.82 m², peak height 104 cm, and packed weight 2820 g with a 2330 g minimum trail weight — split between two hikers, that's a reasonable, if not ultralight, per-person load for a semi-freestanding double-wall tent. Semi-freestanding means the foot end still needs staking to hold its shape, unlike the fully freestanding Elixir 1. Cross-ventilation comes from a peak vent plus a low vent working together with partial mesh paneling to cut condensation, and four interior pockets give more gear organization than the single-person model. The 75D fly and floor, taped seams, and included footprint carry over MSR's durability-first approach.
