NEMO Impact Backpacking Tent

The NEMO Impact is a freestanding three-person backpacking tent built from 100% recycled ripstop polyester, co-developed with L.L.Bean as the world's first tent marketed as carbon-neutral. The double-wall dome design with aluminum poles pitches inner-first and holds its shape without relying on stakes, which makes setup straightforward even on uneven ground. With 4.09 m² of floor space and a 112 cm peak height, three occupants get reasonable room, though the tradeoff shows in weight: 2900 g packaged (2630 g minimum trail weight), or roughly 967 g per person — solidly in backpacking territory rather than ultralight. Two vestibules totaling 1.7 m² and two mesh doors let two people get in, out, and store packs without climbing over each other. A 1200 mm waterproof rating on both fly and floor covers typical three-season weather, and the largely mesh canopy keeps airflow decent in mild conditions. PFC- and FRC-free fabrics matter to anyone weighing the tent's environmental footprint alongside its specs. Guylines and a repair kit are included; the footprint is sold separately.
