Katabatic Gear Flex 40 850

The Katabatic Gear Flex 40 850 is the short-fit version (rated for users up to 167 cm) of Katabatic's ultralight quilt line, filled with 850 fill-power hydrophobic duck down. At 490 g total (272 g of that is down fill) it's rated to a 4°C comfort temperature. Continuous horizontal baffles and a differential cut distribute the fill evenly, and a draft collar cuts heat loss around the neck. The DWR-treated Pertex Quantum Eco Ripstop shell and Pertex Quantum Taffeta liner are both made from recycled, bluesign-certified fabric. The footbox is open and ventilated rather than zippered, and the quilt attaches to a sleeping pad via loop straps instead of carrying its own underside insulation. Shoulder and hip widths of 137/117 cm are standard sizing. The down carries RDS certification, the quilt is made in the USA, and it ships with both a stuff sack and a storage sack. Packing down to 4.5 L, it's a reasonable pick for weight-conscious three-season backpacking, particularly for shorter hikers who fit the 167 cm size limit.
