Katabatic Gear Flex 40 900

The Katabatic Gear Flex 40 900 is the regular-fit version (up to 183 cm) of this ultralight quilt, filled with 900 fill-power hydrophobic goose down. At 505 g (272 g of that being down) it shares the 4°C comfort rating of the 850FP model but with less fill weight needed to get there. Continuous horizontal baffles and a differential cut spread the fill evenly, and a draft collar limits heat loss at the neck. The Pertex Quantum ECO Ripstop shell and Pertex Quantum Taffeta liner are recycled, bluesign-certified fabrics with a DWR finish, though unlike some other Katabatic models this one isn't listed as PFC-free. The open, ventilated footbox has no zipper; the quilt attaches to the pad with loop straps rather than carrying its own underside insulation. The down is RDS-certified, the quilt is made in the USA, and it ships with a stuff sack and storage sack. Packing to 4.5 L, it's a solid three-season pick for hikers up to 183 cm — the higher fill power buys a slightly better warmth-to-weight ratio than the 850 version.
